LAUSD Board Vice President Jackie Goldberg (BD5) will introduce a resolution at Tuesday’s regular Board meeting to “suspend implementation” of the new school rating system that parents and other stakeholders helped develop for more than a year. The district was in the final stages of testing the system and had planned to roll it out in October. Votes will be delayed on two resolutions from Board Member Kelly Gonez (BD6) to explore giving non-citizen parents the right to vote in school board elections and to compile data on enrollment trends in LAUSD’s schools of choice to ensure equitable access for all kids. Both resolutions, which had been slated for votes at this meeting, will now be referred to newly formed board committees first before coming up for a vote in October. The entire agenda can be found here.
