LAUSD Regular Board Meeting November 5

The LAUSD Board will vote on a resolution from Jackie Goldberg to dismantle the School Performance Framework that the board voted 6-1 last year to create. The board will also decide whether to bury student growth data that was a key component of that new school rating system. Also coming up at Tuesday’s LAUSD board meeting are resolutions from Kelly Gonez to study enrollment data to decrease school segregation and a resolution to look into giving non-citizen parents of kids in L.A. schools the right to vote in school board elections. Board Member Nick melvoin also has a resolution looking at the distribution of parent organizations such as booster clubs at schools across the district and how to make sure all schools have access to these organizations, which often raise money for underfunded schools.
